The opening for people to use will be reduced by the following widths: Small flap panels 11 1/8"; Medium flap panels 13 3/16"; Large flap panels 15 3/16"; and XL flap panels 17 1/4". Height ranges are determined by measuring from lowest point of lower track to highest point in upper track. If your panel is a little to tall to fit in slider opening, you can trim up to 1/4" off the top flange.

Adjust the Step-Over
Every Vinyl Panel has an adjustable step-over that allows you to change how close the bottom of the pet door is to the ground.
A lower step-over height will be easier for your dog to use.
Apply Weatherstripping
Reinforce the energy efficiency value by applying weather stripping along the edges of the panel.
The Vinyl Panel also comes with a center post strip to further block cold drafts and warm air from your home.
Adjust Spring-Mechanism
Install the panel tools-free by adjusting the screws on the built-in spring mechanism.
Loosen or tighten the screws to make the panel taller or shorter to achieve the perfect fit within your sliding glass door.

How To Measure for Your Pet Door
Find Your Flap Size
Measure your dog to ensure that your flap is at least 1 inch above the highest point of their back (this may be their shoulders, mid-back, or tailbone).
The Vinyl Panel has an adjustable step-over of 3-5 inches for a better fit.
Backyards and patios are typically a few inches lower than a home's floor level. Please ensure that your dog is comfortable stepping over both the step-over and the extra distance between the floor-level and the outdoor ground; this is more important for doors with large step overs or tiny dogs.
Find Your Height Adjustment Range
To find your height adjustment range, measure your sliding glass door track from the lowest point of the bottom corner of your door up to the highest point of the top corner.
Make sure there is nothing blocking your measuring tape from reaching your frame's corner.
Select the height adjustment range that your sliding door track height falls in.
Check Your Track Width
Your sliding glass door track needs to be at least 1.5" wide to accommodate the Severe Weather Vinyl Panel.
Measure the width of your bottom track to ensure that the panel door will fit.
