J.J. Cale
at the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt [Germany] on Thursday, 17th March, 1977, presented by Lippmann+Rau, and with British singer-songwriter and guitarist John Martyn as special guest. Cale was touring Europe in support of the
Troubadour
album, his fourth studio album since his debut in 1972, produced by Audie Ashworth, who had also produced Cale’s first three studio albums, and released in September 1976 by Shelter Records. Containing the singles “Travelin’ Light” and “Cocaine”, the album featured a number of noted musicians including drummer Kenny Buttrey, pedal steel guitarist Buddy Emmons, and guitarist Reggie Young, and #reached #84 on the
Billboard
200. Eric Clapton famously covered the song “Cocaine” on his 1977 album
Slowhand
, turning it into one of his biggest hits.
The poster measures 59.6 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. Folded horizontally at the middle, else in excellent unmarked condition. P
